Speed plain and simple is our goal.
Matrix Motor Werks strives to provide innovative vehicles primarily for track purposes. While the typical sport vehicle offered in today's marketplace offers incredible performance it usually also comes with a maze of complexity that few can navigate. Our goal is to simplify the vehicle to the point that the average shade tree mechanic can both complete one of our vehicle kits as well as maintain and repair it.
If you enjoy the thrill of speed our kits might be suitable for you. If you want to go out to an AutoX event or some HPDE and really get in touch with your driving abilities look no further. These vehicles will allow virtually unlimited (and quick!)suspension adjustment while keeping the mechanical side of the design relatively simple. While Colin Chapman's Lotus 7 design has endured for about 50 years we feel that a stylistic and drivetrain layout update is due. The principles of light weight and mechanical simplicity remain, but our designs look more 21st century than the style of the early Lotus cars. There are three components to driving quickly. These are acceleration, braking, and turning. More power helps acceleration, but low weight helps all three.

The TR-42 is a mid engine 4 wheel exoskeletal car. This is the primary product offered by Matrix Motor Werks Inc. This is a kit car that is offered as a roller needing a drivetrain only. Seating, instrumentation, wheels, tires, frame, brakes, fuel system, virtually everything else is included in our standard kit! For those with specific track needs we can tailor the kit to delete items that are not suitable for the intended use and reduce the price of the kit accordingly. Power comes from a Porsche Type IV engine (easily sourced from a Porsche 914). This air cooled flat four cylinder engine has a very low center of gravity and has very good aftermarket support for engine power upgrades. Standard displacement ranges from 1.8 to 2.0 litres, but stroker and big bore kits have the capacity for various increases up to 3.2 litres. We can make recommendations for optimal upgrades to satisfy both desired power levels as well as durability requirements.

The M3 Rota is a mid engine 3 wheel exoskeletal reverse trike. Power comes from a Yamaha R1 engine. With inboard front suspension and a modern powerplant it offers more complexity than the TR-42 model. This vehicle is in the same class as the Campagna T-rex, but strays from the realtively tame design styling of the T-rex to create the most futuristic vehicle available on the market today. Originally designed as a concept vehicle, customer interest has given us the impetus to offer this vehicle as a high tech alternative to our TR-42 vehicle.
